Interesting. I just saw :)'s in the post you showed, and assumed the emote tags were missing. Not so. I tried a couple of emotes myself and they looked fine in preview. I posted in the affected thread and the emote worked fine. The one above was quoted from the affected post. Still fine, so not a format error.

Nope. It doesn't look as if it's even trying to load an image for me. (FF 12).
As noted above, emotes elsewhere are fine.

I'd love the oppertunity to use Chrome, but this being the school network, IE is my only option.

And I just posted another smiley on that thread, and it showed up, so I don't know if it's an anomaly or what.

Actually, now you mention it. I don't see images either, just textual :)'s. Nothing weird about them at a first glance. Rightclicking though, I see they're indeed images, and they give a 404 error.
I guess the location of the smileys has moved over time, or maybe this was a cross-site thread (like Google+ shows on TCaS and NP) and the URL is relative and only works on TCaS? I'm betting on that the image location moved, but wouldn't Blake also change the URLs in all posts if that were the case?

I thought of that too, but then it seems smilies outside the thread would also be glitched.

Since the original post, I've posted another smiley in that thread, and it comes up nicely. It seems to be just that post... I'm confused.

Sorry to double post, but your theory was correct. How I have NO IDEA, but it's correct.

The smileys for the glitched post are at this URL, while the regular ones go to this URL. Very confusing.
