The trick is... It can be turned into a game. You're so quick to dismiss it without even trying it. The game is... How do you counter [Pokemon X] who uses [Move Y] assuming you have access to all pokemon who have access to all moves, and all of them have fair stats for their level, and all are the same level. It now becomes a theoretical exercise in gaining the elemental upper hand. |
I already summoned myself, cast "move thread", and had the cauldron blow up in my face. Wait, what game was this again? |
The theory behind the game (that everyone seems to be ignoring in favor of things they find funny) is Person A would suggest a Pokemon, and a move to be used by that Pokemon. Any other person may then suggest the most appropriate Pokemon to counter that Pokemon, and that move. The Pokemon they select should then use a move that makes sense to that Pokemon (so Bulbasaur could use Vine Whip, but not Hydro Pump), both of which should be good against Person A's Pokemon and move. The game would continue like that. The theory is, it's like the Word Association Thread, except requires thinking, and knowledge of Pokemon. Of course, ground rules like "Which Pokemon can be used" would have to be set, as to prevent Person A from only using the original 150 while Person B includes Generation 2-n (n being the current generation of Pokemon) as well. Oh, and if you want, you can draw a little animation of your move. |
