Blake is an alien from outer space who has come to relieve us of our nerdy worries....

Blake can circular breathe and is actually an alien robot. This is all true. Not myth.

In the beggining, there was Blake. Of him came Ner and Gek. Out of the vaccum also came Jok, who had many more offspring than Ner or Gek, but Blake dispised him, and took from him all good taste and intelligence, giving them to his own sons. The first beings reproduced genderlessly (will edit this if someone will tell me what species that have but one gender are called), so there was no need for any females then. Please continue...

There was strange mutation among the sons of Joc creating the new group called the Ipste--which distanced themselves from Joc and tried to imitate Ner and Gek, as the Ipste defined themselves purely in contrast to the Joc. Unfortunately, this gave them a vested interest in Joc's continued survival. There were also the Pedans, similar to the Ipste.

Soon, however, Blake discovered something: His sons had became far, far apart, but there was still away. He decided he must remember there was always a way. He knew he must act quickly, so he spoke to a son of Ner, urging him to teach their secrets to his youngest sibling, a small girl. He said, urgently, "We must preserve the ways. Only in unity can this happen."

The son of Ner was reluctant at first, but spoke to his kinsmen, and it was obvious what must be done.

Soon, the girl grew strong in the Ways and through her, the Ner and Gek both spread to women.

Blake saw this, and it was good.

And lo, the men of Joc had no discourse with her, for the ways of Ner were abhorrent to them.
Verily, it was to their loss, and the favor of Blake was not upon the tribe of Joc.

A long age passed, and the Ner and Gek created many new wonderful things. First they made writing to put their thoughts down on rock and paper. Then they set down the rules of mathematics and physics. Then they discovered many things about themselves, and the internal structure of all the moving beings. And they made and discovered many other things. And Blake was pleased. The Joc stole much of the good of the Ner and Gek, and much more they gave willingly, but the Joc were not grateful.

Joc was by far the larger portion of society. Using the pittance of ingenuity that the civilization had, Joc developed a way of converting the Ner and Gek. He coined the term "cool" and emphasized how good it was to be cool. This badly affected the Ner and Gek population.

But they remembered that even in the darkest of times, there was always light. So they began to Design...
And the world was never the same.

Soon, the Ner and the Gek realized a great truth: They could destroy Jok by resisting his cool. Both Ner and Gek selected a few to train against the cool, and they rose and became very powerful. This is where we got hipsters.

Um, no. Look above. I codified that beforehand as the "Ipste"

Consider my hipsters even better hipsters than they were.

No, Hipsters are not nerds. They're hypocrites

yes. Hipsters are a rebel culture, as opposed to nerds and geeks, who ignore the Joc. We don't strive to be uncool, just ignore coolness altogether.

Isn't ignoring and striving to be uncool almost the same thing?
Sorry. I'm new to this whole nerd thing. Let me start over. Not being mainstream is mainstream. Do not question this.

(I don't think it has to be a case where you only fall into one category or another. People normally don't work that way. I don't think people are that simple.)

what I meant is, we have our own culture, which is not built off of hating pop.
For example, some nerds memorize digits of pi. This is not in any way avoiding pop culture, it's not opposing it.

Unfortunately, the Ner and Gek were infiltrated by the Ipste, and thus the battle against the Joc was failing. Yet, as the last of the Ipste were removed from the ranks, Ner and Gek began to rise. But enough damage had been done. Ner and Gek began to separate, very slowly...

Are we really that separate? I'm pretty sure I'm both a geek and a nerd, and the definitions are really fuzzy, anyway.

And behold, thus began the Mainstreaming of the Gek
It was thus called "Gek Pride"
Now it came to pass that those who had no claim to the Gek except for watching Star Wars and playing video games began to assume the Gek throne.

But all was not lost! For, the Ners and Geks, pulling away, met eyes. They knew the only way to keep from being destroyed by Jok was to join forces.

I was hoping it would lead to a battle between the groups.

A battle would be hard, as most of the communication between nerds and geeks is done online. Unless by "battle" you mean "flame war".

The true Gek did not notice the newcomers, and those that did did not mind them. They were a peaceful race, eating and drinking what they could forage (ex. Mountain Dew)
