I have thus far not watched any of the new Dr. Who (mainly time issue, I'll probably get on them in the next couple weeks since finals will be next week and then I'll actually have a life again), but I'm curious of the opinions of anybody who has followed it whether the new Doctor is any good. Obviously more intelligent than "HE'S NOT DAVID TENNANT SO HE SUCKS RAWR!!", though. |
After watching about 10 minutes of one episode (my life is pretty chaotic too), I can say the following: It seems to follow the general themes of the show (so you don't have to worry about it becoming a worthless show, somehow), and though he's not quite as charasmatic as David Tennet was, he is, by no means, bad. Definitely worth watching. |
I finally got around to watching those new episodes. While doing so, the following thought occured to me: "Wow, I can never go back to watching David Tennet as the Doctor. This new guy is just too good." I've yet to confirm this hypothesis by watching an older episode. When I asked TCAS, all responders but 3 admitted (directly or indirectly) they had no idea what I was talking about. One of those three called him different, but good. The other 2 said he's not as good as David was. That being said, I actually prefer the onscreen chemistry of The 11th Doctor and Amy to that of the 10th Doctor and Rose. |

The new doctor is indeed quite good. I'd put him on par with the tenth doctor but not necessarily better since there acting styles are different and thus can't be compared. On a related note, the 11th doctor looks and sounds exactly like my Greek professor here. Coincidence? I think not! |
