It's been a while since I looked into things, but, last I knew, Jordan had substantial notes on book 12 that he left for it to be written from. But this information dates from a week or so after Jordan's death. According to wiki, book 12 is split into 3 volumes, only one of which has been published. Personally, I'm waiting until the series is completed before reading any more of it. |

Is it worth finishing the series or should i stop after this one? I've not read the 12th book yet, I have it purchased and sitting on my bookshelf. I force myself to reread the entire series before each new book is released, so I understand what's going on. I'm halfway through book 10 right now. So if you ask me this question in about 2 weeks I'll have an answer for you. I have *heard* from people that I know personally and trust, that it rocks hard. |

Sanderson's continuation of the series was adequate, and it probably would have been nearly impossible to find a more suitable author, but I wouldn't call it one of my favorites in the series. Immediately his writing style seemed to clash with Jordan's, and it was a while before I got into it. (Although, the horribly useless prologue might be to blame for that; I was afraid the entire book would be that bad.) If you like the series it's worth reading, and it has some excellent high points to compete with even the best of Jordan's, but nothing's going to make me stop missing that old Jordan flavor. |
