I'm MyKo-101

My real name is Mike. I'm from a small town in between Manchester and Liverpool in the UK. I'm in my second year studying Mathematics at Lancaster University, and will be doing a year abroad at the University of Waterloo next year.

I have two jobs as a Barman. One is at a local pub in the town where I'm from. The other is in a Wetherspoon pub in Lancaster (In case you don't know, Wetherspoon is a chain of pubs in the UK, most cities/towns have a Wetherspoon pub and a lot of them have two)

When I graduate with my Masters; I'm not sure whether to get a PhD in Mathematics, or move to another University and study Computer Programming or Video Game Programming/Design (I enjoy programming, but am a little rusty as I haven't done any since college, and even then it was mainly in my spare time). If I don't carry on in education, I could probably run a pub.

Hi and welcome.

What branch of mathematics are you studying?

Hello MyKo-101.
I am sorry if I will be utterly useless in your assistance involving the predicament of which you have been trapped in, as I have very recently exited elementary school.
Either way, I will ask you the same question as the one above.

I'm just studying a Pure Mathematics at the moment so it's not really very specific to any particular branch. I'm currently still only doing compulsory modules: Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Vectors, Groups and Rings, Probability and Statistics. So it's still a bit mismatched. Hopefully next year and the year after I'll be able to pick and choose what I study. Which will mainly involve me NOT studying Statistics because I find it incredibly boring. After my 4 years, if I stay on for a PhD I'll get to choose a specific branch of mathematics to focus in on. I'm hoping for something relating to complex functions and/or differential equations
