Good Morning, My name is Rachel. I'm not going to pretend I'm clever, or brilliant, but I will say I'm not as dumb as the majority of my peers. I am a lover of books and the literature, as my username clearly states, the smell of old books is intoxicating. I hope that I may find good company here, or at least some entertainment for a few hours.

I agree. Old book smell is awesome. I'm not the brightest person here either, but I hope you like it here. =)

Brightness helps, but it's not required. Wisdom will get you further in most cases : )

In my senior year of high school, I was required to include an annotated bibliography for one of my papers. In it, I included notes on how each book smelled.

And you got full credit for it?

I have had teachers who count off for things like that.

There's actually a section in the rubric entitled "Not Wasting the Teacher's Time".

I once got a 1 (the equivalent of an F) in Polish class for assuming Romeo was a geek...

I'm so glad you're here! What's your favorite book? I moved from my old apartment into a condo just so I could have space for my books. Well, and so I could have a fire place by which I could read.

I'm so glad you're hear!

I thought you were a writing person...

My inner excited child out ran my inner grammarian, I'm afraid.

You could fix that with an edit...

She could, but it's still quoted in the post.

I hope y'all are not so persnickety as to hold it against me for very long.

Does anyone have a problem with using the word "y'all" in place of "you" when "you" is plural?
[Quote] [Link]
I usually just say "vosotros", for lack of an English word...
[Quote] [Link]
I say "you guys" in person, but on the internet, i usually just say "you".

Awesome! I was afraid when I registered that I'd be lost among computer, science, or math nerds, but lit geeks are sounding off already. Cool.

Yup, nerds of any kind are welcome here. Left or right-brained.

It really is!!

And so is this whole quote in a quote thing. It makes me feel like Leonardo DiCaprio. hahaha

Also, hurray for Lit-Geeks!! I was likewise concerned that I'd come on here and be lost in computer-speak, glad to see isn't so. :D
